A Florida mother who was in cahoots with her son to rob a convenience store has been busted, according to a report.
Amanda Chere Meador was arrested Friday for armed robbery and child neglect after she allegedly drove her 15-year-old son and two other males to rob the Circle K store in Winter Springs, which lies 15 miles north of Orlando, in October.
Meador's son was carrying a gun and wearing a mask when he entered the convenience store and handed the cashier a paper note demanding money, according to a Seminole County Sheriff's Office report obtained by The Smoking Gun. He then fled to a minivan driven by his mother and they made their getaway.
The vehicle could not be identified because the license plates had been covered, but cops got a break in the case when they traced fingerprints left on the note to Meador's son, who was not wearing gloves at the time of the robbery.
Upon searching the family's house just three miles from the convenience store, police recovered the mask and "clothing which matched the items worn by the perpetrator of the robbery."
Meador was subsequently arrested on two felony charges.
According to the charge report, Meador "had knowledge the robbery was to be committed" and "actively encouraged" her son to "commit an act which could reasonably be expected to result in physical injury."
This is not the first crime committed by Meador. She was previously convicted for theft, drug possession, and a probation violation.
She is being held without bond in the Seminole County jail and will be arraigned on March 10.
