Ray Rice has settled his $3.5 million termination grievance with the NFL ahead of a hearing set for Thursday and Friday.
USA Today reported that a source with knowledge of the settlement wished to remain anonymous because the terms of the settlement are to remain private.
Earlier this week, The Baltimore Sun reported that Rice was seeking $3.529 million, "the amount he lost in nonguaranteed base salary when he was cut by the Ravens on Sept. 8" following the public leak of the video in which he punched his then-fiancée Janay Palmer, who is now his wife, in an Atlantic City casino elevator.
Following the disclosure of the video and Rice's indefinite suspension, an arbitrator overturned it. Rice is now free to sign with any team that will have him.
"So that ends the relationship between Rice and the Ravens. The real question is whether anyone else will give Rice a job,"
wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
The Sun reported that Rice's original contract was worth $35 million.
