Actress Priyanka Chopra appears in a new Gap ad, "Bridging the Gap," which aims to celebrate diversity.
"'Bridging the Gap' is exactly what the world needs right now," Chopra said, according to "Entertainment Tonight." "There are so many gaps in this world that need to be filled."
Chief among those gaps, Chopra said, is the empowerment of women.
"Women need to be given an opportunity to stand on their feet and do the best they can for themselves," she told "ET."
The Indian star is drawing praise for her involvement in the project.
"Priyanka definitely is on a roll and it seems like impossible to stop her from achieving a new milestone with every new project. The actor has revolutionized the way the world looked at the Indian cinema industry," The Indian Express noted.
The Gap video features the song "Sunny," composed by Boney M and directed by Edward Enninful. The video shows a convergence of people from diverse backgrounds singing and dancing to the song.
Others involved in the Gap ad campaign include Rapper Wiz Khalifa, actress Christie Brinkley, actor Jonathan Groff, actress Yara Shahidi, designer Alek Welk, champion fencer Miles Chamley-Watson, and models Adwoa Aboah, Maria Borges, Fernanda Ly, Lineisy Montero, Ellen Rosa, Casil McArthur, and Jasmine Sanders.
Chopra posted a video about the campaign on Instagram, saying "Celebrating our differences is being proud of where you come from and engulfing other people who are different into your world."
