Sweden’s Princess Madeleine is pregnant, expecting her second baby with husband Christopher O’Neill just 10 months after Princess Lenore joined the royal family.
The couple made the announcement on Facebook:
"We are very happy and look forward to welcoming a new member to our family," Princess Madeleine, 32, and O’Neill, 40, said in a statement.
Princess Leonore was born in February.
Princess Madeleine is active in children’s rights with the organization her mother founded, World Childhood Foundation, and
The Associated Press said that the pregnancy is not expected to interfere with Princess Madeleine’s schedule.
The exciting news comes less than a year after the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Leonore, who is fifth in line to the throne.
In March, Princess Madeleine posted on Facebook, “We are so happy to have Leonore in our life. She is a little angel and like her name, she brings sunlight even on cloudy days. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your lovely best wishes for our daughter. She feels very loved.”
Princess Madeleine and O’Neill join the Duke and Duchess of York as expectant royalty; Prince George will get a sibling in April.
