The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that only 25 percent of the nation’s voters strongly approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president.
Thirty-five percent strongly disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of minus 10.
Meanwhile, 61 percent of Republicans believe their party leaders in Washington are out of touch with the party’s voters. Fifty percent of Democrats think their party leaders have done a good job representing the party’s values.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who strongly disapprove of the president from the number who strongly approve.
Overall, 50 percent of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's performance; 48 percent disapprove.
