A video of police being called on a 12-year-old kid mowing a lawn in suburban Cleveland last week went viral on social media, and some supporting him have increased his business since that time, WEWS-TV reported.

Reginald Fields, 12, was mowing a lawn for Lucille Holt on June 23 in Maple Heights, Ohio, when someone reportedly called the police to complain that the young Fields cut grass in a portion of their lawn as well, the television station reported.

"They said I was cutting their grass," Fields, who runs Mr. Reggie's Lawn Cutting Service, told WEWS-TV. "I didn't know it."

Holt said that Fields cut about a foot into her neighbor's property where the two lots adjoin, according to the television station. Police arrived on the scene but left a short time later, noting that that there was no clear indication where the property line begins and ends, according to Cleveland.com.

The report said Fields and his relatives were going to pick up the grass clippings and not cut their grass again, Cleveland.com said.

"When you see young kids doing something good, you're supposed to love on them," Holt told Cleveland.com.

Holt created a Facebook post about the incident, which quickly went viral with more than 564,000 views. The post was also shared another 2,200 times.

"People are inboxing me like, 'how can I get in touch with (these) children? Where are they at? I got property I want these kids to cut,'" Holt told WEWS-TV.

The post has been a boon for Fields' business with calls from all over the city, the television station said. The preteen said he is saving money to buy new equipment for his business.

"It's been busy," Field told Cleveland.com. "We've been all over the place. My mom has to drive us all over."

Fields and his brother, Creshawn Austin, 13, have averaged four to five yards a day since Saturday, they told Cleveland.com.

The brothers told the website that they want to be entrepreneurs and own a home improvement store one day.

A GoFundMe page Holt set up for the boys has raised more than $36,000 as of Monday, blowing past its modest goal of $1,000.

"I hope the streets don't ever take my kids over," Brandy Fields, Reggie's mother, told Cleveland.com. "It's a lot going on. I don't ever want to have to bury my child before they bury me. I want them to remain on a straight arrow. Go to college and do everything."

The neighbor who called the police declined to comment on the incident and the video, WEWS-TV said.

The incident follows a series of videos highlighting police being called on African-Americans following an incident at Starbucks earlier this year when authorities arrested two men waiting on a business client in Philadelphia.

The latest involved a woman in San Francisco pretending to call the police on an African-American girl selling water in front of her apartment complex last month. That led Alison Ettel, dubbed "Permit Patty" on social media, to resign from her cannabis company after a social media backlash.
