A bikini made of pizza called a Pizza-Kini is being offered by New York’s Villa Italian Kitchen in honor of National Bikini Day on July 5.
The bikini is custom fitted in consultation with a food stylist and costs $10,000, according to a facebook post from the company.
Food and Wine Magazine said the pizza bikini should last for about a week unless it gets wet or excessively sandy. The straps are made of braided dough and the suit features 100 percent whole milk mozzarella, sauce from California tomatoes, and a pepperoni topping.
The Pizza-Kini is completely edible, but eating one’s swimsuit seems problematic, and the expense for the wearable pizza seems stiff for a suit that will only last a week.
HuffPost said the only bikini requested so far was the one in the ad, but Food and Wine said Villa Italian Kitchen had gotten several messages indicating interest in the Pizza-Kinis through Facebook.
Twitter users were not impressed with the offering.
