The royal baby made his first appearance Tuesday as Prince William and Kate left St. Mary's Hospital, and pictures of the little prince quickly spread like wildfire online.
The baby, which has not yet been named, was born Monday after months of hype and near-hysterical media attention. He is third in line to the throne after grandfather Prince Charles and father Prince William.
William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, appeared on the steps outside the hospital's private Lindo Wing Tuesday just as Princess Diana and Charles did in 1982 when William was born. Kate even channeled her late mother-in-law in a similar polka dot dress.

It didn't take long for pictures of the royal baby to be plastered all over Twitter and every major new site.
A few clever Twitter users likened the royal baby's first appearance to that of "The Lion King" and Michael Jackson's balcony episode.
