The New England Patriots will have to wait a day to share their Super Bowl victory with their fans because the parade through downtown Boston was delayed until Wednesday by the weather.
NBC Sports reported that Boston city officials had originally scheduled the parade for Tuesday, starting at the Prudential Tower and on to City Hall "in front of throngs of fans who have been waiting 10 years to celebrate at a Patriots championship parade."
The show, though, isn't expected to go on until 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to city officials.
The Boston Globe reported that the National Weather Service predicted clouds and highs near 33 and a chance of snow showers Wednesday that aren't expected to drop more than a half-inch.
"Due to today's bad weather and the worsening forecast for tonight, the New England Patriots and the City of Boston have made the mutual decision to postpone the victory parade," Mayor Martin Walsh said on Monday. "We thank everyone for their flexibility and patience during the planning of this parade and we look forward to celebrating with Patriots fans during better weather on Wednesday."
Walsh said the parade route would remain the same.
Patriot fans weighed in on Twitter.
