The Obamas are staying in Washington D.C. after the presidency changes hands so that their youngest daughter can finish high school there.
"We're going to have to stay a couple of years so Sasha can finish. Transferring someone in the middle of high school — tough," President Obama told his lunch companions at a Milwaukee restaurant on Thursday,
USA Today reported.
Sasha, 14, currently attends the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, and her sister, Malia, will be going to college this year.
Asked where the family will live after Sasha finishes, Obama said he wasn't so sure.
"We haven't figured that out yet," he said.
Obama was in Milwaukee to dine with people who had written him letters about the Affordable Care Act, and to celebrate the city on having the most enrollments.
After realizing that the traveling press corps was overwhelming the conversation, he encouraged them to shoo.
"Thanks guys," he said. "Get out of here."
As the Chicago Tribune reported, Obama said much the same about the family's post-presidency plans in an interview with Barbara Walters roughly three years ago.
"We got to make sure that she's doing well," Obama told Walters. "Sasha will have a big say in where we are."
Every president since Woodrow Wilson has left Washington D.C. after completing their terms.
