Nicolas Cage will be the voice of Superman in “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies,” set to hit theaters in July, USA Today reported.
Cage is one of the biggest Superman fans in Hollywood and was cast in 1998’s “Superman Lives,” which never made it to theaters. Cage even named his son Kal-El after the superhero’s Kryptonian name and at one point owned a copy of the first Superman comic ever, "Action Comics #1."
The upcoming animated film has other big-name voice talent, including pop star Halsey as Wonder Woman, rapper Lil Yachty as Green Lantern, and Kristin Bell as Jade Wilson.
“Every superhero in the DC Universe has an impact on the fans, so we felt a great responsibility to find a voice for each character that would not only suit the role, but the playful tone of the Titans, and we’re thrilled with our cameo cast,” Executive Producer Sam Register said, USA Today reported.
In the film, the popular TV show’s main characters Robin (Scott Menville), Starfire (Hynden Walch), Raven (Tara Strong), Cyborg (Khary Payton), and Beast Boy (Greg Cipes) try to get a popular Hollywood director (Bell) to give them their big break.
Twitter was excited and a little confused by the choice.
