A mother and her two sons were killed while attempting to cross a busy road in Philadelphia, and police are investigating whether the cars that killed the family were drag racing at the time. The woman's two other sons are critically injured.
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Roosevelt Boulevard, a major street that runs through north and northeast Philadelphia. Investigators said the 27-year-old woman was in a crosswalk with her four sons when they were hit by a car, according to The Associated Press.

Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says authorities are investigating whether cars were drag racing. The driver was taken in for questioning.
The woman and her 1-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene. The other three children were taken to a hospital, where the 9-month-old was pronounced dead. Two sons, ages 4 and 5, are in critical condition.
