Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says talks on raising the

debt ceiling present a “great opportunity” to challenge federal spending,
Politico reports.
“Rather than thinking of this as a crisis, I think of it as an opportunity to come together and those talks are underway led by the vice president,” he said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."
McConnell said he would need a comprehensive blueprint for both the immediate future and the long term if he’s going to vote for raising the $14.3 trillion ceiling, and pushed for a two-year spending cap to be included in any increase.
