Melissa Rivers will join “Fashion Police” as a co-host, working with Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, and taking on the role once held by her late mother, Joan Rivers.
Rivers has worked on the series as an executive producer.
"We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the 'Fashion Police' cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad," said Jeff Olde, executive vice president of programming for E!,
in a Wednesday release cited by Us Weekly. "And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different, and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode."
"I adore Melissa," Rancic, 40, told Us Weekly after the announcement that Rivers would join the show. "I’ve known Melissa forever, we talk all the time, we text all the time. No one knows the show as well as Melissa. I think it's an exciting time for 'Fashion Police.' I like that there's a familiarity there, and we all know each other so well, it's a lot harder to welcome a new person in because you have to get to know them and their timing."
Radar Online reported in early June that Rivers wanted to save the show her mother nurtured.
"Melissa is saying that she is going to host the show. No one understands the show more than she does and this is what her mother would want," an unidentified source told Radar.
