McConnell: Obama to Blame for Rising Gas Prices

By    |   Sunday, 13 March 2011 09:11 PM EDT

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell lays part of the blame on President Barack Obama for rising gas prices, saying “he certainly has participated,” Politico reports.

“This administration has been shutting down wells,” McConnell said on "Fox News Sunday.” “It has been a conscious effort to make it difficult to drill in this country, both on shore and offshore, by the bureaucrats who have been appointed by this administration.

“The president noting that there’s been a slight uptick in production doesn’t get to the heart of the problem,” McConnell said.
