Rush: Conservatives Could End Up Losing 'Political Game'

The House and Senate are “playing a political game” over the controversial payroll tax cut legislation while “the substance of this issue is being totally ignored,” Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday on his radio show.

 

“The entire political establishment is aligned against congressional conservatives over this one thing,” Limbaugh said, referring to a two-month extension of the tax cut passed by the Democrat-controlled Senate versus a one-year continuance, favored by the Republican-controlled House.

 

“The Republican establishment does not really see the country threatened or imperiled,” he said, adding they think “this is just the latest political cycle.”

 

The finish line of the political game, “to not let the Democrats win this,” is being lost in translation, he said.

 

 “As a Republican, I am sick and tired of having been told all my life that I want to keep old people out of their houses, and that I want them to eat dog food, and that I don’t care about their healthcare or any of that,” Limbaugh said. “That lie has been around for as long as I can remember.”
