Senate Democrats, in voting down a key piece of President Barack Obama’s jobs package, sent a message that they don’t care whether more women get raped, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show today.
“It is clear that the Senate Democrats voted for more rape and for more murder yesterday by turning down the president’s jobs bill,” Limbaugh said. “What else can you conclude?”
Thursday’s failed measure included $35 billion for state and local governments to hire schoolteachers, police officers, and firefighters. The original $447 billion American Jobs Act was divvied up after failing to garner full approval.
“Apparently, it still hasn’t been broken down into small enough bite-size chunks for even the Democrats to swallow,” Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh played an audio clip of White House spokesman Jay Carney defending the legislation and said, “They’re trying to distract us” with talk of “fewer cops equals more rapes.”
“More firefighters do not prevent more fires,” Limbaugh said. “How many policemen would it take for there never to be any rapes? How many cops would it take for there never to be any robberies?”
“The White House has doubled-down on this, and the president shares this point of view,” he said. “They’re not walking this back.”
