The prime-time crime show began filming a fictional version of the events that almost took the life of Gabrielle Giffords, an Arizona Democrat, during a public event at a Tucson supermarket in January,
according to Entertainment Weekly.
The long-running "Law & Order" TV franchise commonly borrows story lines from real life. This week’s episode is based on the murder of Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen.
