Kristin Cavallari's brother, who is also Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler's brother-in-law, has been missing in Utah since the day after Thanksgiving when police found his abandoned car with the engine still running.
The Honda Civic driven by Michael Cavallari was found about 100 feet from Interstate 70 with the motor idling and the airbags deployed, said a
"Today" show report. The Grand County Sheriff's Office said Cavallari's cell phone and laptop were found inside the vehicle.
"There's really no signs of anything," said Sheriff Steven White. "The vehicle was just abandoned . . . There's no sign of foul play that we can tell. We're still piecing everything together."
WMAQ-TV reported that Cavallari's Honda Civic was registered to someone in San Clemente, California. The sheriff's office said Cavallari was identified as the driver from security video at a convenience store in Monticello, Utah.
Authorities said credit card transactions led investigators to the convenience store.
Kristin Cavallari was the star of the former MTV reality shows "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," from 2004 to 2006 and "The Hills," from 2007 to 2010.
Kristan Cavallari and Cutler celebrated the birth of their third child, a girl named Saylor, in November, according to the
Chicago Tribune. The couple had been married since 2013.
Chicago Tribune sports columnist David Haugh tweeted that Cutler was asked about Michael Cavallari after the Bears' Sunday game with the San Francisco.
Just days after her brother disappeared, Kristin Cavallari posted a pic on Instagram of her new daughter and said she skipped her 10-year high school reunion because of her birth.
