A judge has granted a request from "Days of Our Lives" actor Brandon Barash for an emergency restraining order against his former wife, "General Hospital" star Kirsten Storms.
According to court documents obtained by People, the court validated Barash's assessment that Storms, 42, is currently experiencing a "mental health crisis." The filing from Barash, 44, also asks that the court mandate a formal mental health evaluation for the actress.
Central to the petition are allegations regarding Storms' psychological stability and reported substance use.
Barash claims that an associate informed him of Storms experiencing "repeated episodes of melting down, being triggered, hearing things/voices that weren't there."
The same source allegedly told Barash they believe Storms is abusing Adderall and other substances.
These claims follow a May 2025 interaction in which Barash alleges Storms contacted him, stating she was "experiencing delusions and hallucinations." According to the petition, Barash’s current wife helped hospitalize Storms at that time for a psychiatric hold, an event Barash claims Storms never acknowledged.
The filing details a period of housing and financial instability for Storms after her move to Tennessee in July 2025.
Barash asserts that Storms lacked a permanent home between September 2024 and June 2025, staying instead at hotels or with acquaintances. During this time, Barash alleges she claimed people were "following her and the child to her room."
While she eventually secured an apartment, Barash claims that by November 2025, Storms alleged that intruders were entering her home to move personal items into her vehicle to "mess with her."
The petition also notes that Storms is facing an eviction lawsuit from her landlord and the imminent repossession of her car, despite a $5,000 loan provided by Barash.
These "financial issues" have caused Barash "great concern [for her] ability to adequately care" for the former couple's 12-year-old daughter, Harper Rose. As a result, Storms has been restricted to supervised visitation.
Barash originally submitted the petition in December 2025, alleging that Storms admitted in May that she "didn't think she should have the child for her parenting time."
This legal conflict is in stark contrast to the "amicable" split the pair described following their 2013 marriage and 2016 divorce.
At the time of their separation, Barash told Soap Opera Digest, "We are splitting due to the cliché irreconcilable differences, but we're splitting amicably. We have every intention of remaining a family through this and successfully co-parenting our kid and retaining a friendship in the efforts of raising her in a healthy environment."
Storms echoed that sentiment during the divorce proceedings.
"This was not a hasty decision; a lot of thought and therapy went into this," she said. "We went to therapy for a long time, trying to figure out how to communicate better with each other. It's not anything that we dislike about each other."
