Kian Lawley's racist video has cost him a movie role about a teen dealing with racial issues.

Lawley, 22, who found success on YouTube, had filmed his role in "The Hate U Give," a 20th Century Fox motion picture based on the bestselling young adult novel by the same name, CNN reported.

The movie stars Amandla Stenberg as a teenager growing up in a poor, mostly black neighborhood who attends an affluent, mostly white prep school. The character finds herself in conflict with her two worlds after watching police shoot her unarmed childhood friend, CNN reported.

Lawley was playing the character's boyfriend, and the part will now be recast, movie officials told CNN.

YouTube user Just Trash last month uploaded an undated video of Lawley making racist remarks, which drew more than 42,000 views and caught the attention of Fox executives, CNN said.

According to London's Daily Mail, Lawley could be heard in the video allegedly saying, "That's why we're all black people drinking Kool-Aid and eating Kentucky fried mother f***ing chicken," and "What's up f***ing n*****?"

"Due to the controversy surrounding his past comments and behavior, Kian Lawley will no longer appear in 'The Hate U Give,'" a Fox representative told CNN in a statement. "The studio plans to recast the role of Chris and reshoot scenes as needed."

Lawley apologized for his remarks on Twitter, adding that he respected Fox's decision to remove him from the movie.

Another YouTube star Logan Paul returned to the medium Sunday after he faced backlash from his own fans and others for posting a video Dec. 31 that appeared to show a suicide victim in Japan's Aokigahara forest, which is known for the number of people who take their lives there, Billboard magazine noted.

In response, YouTube removed Paul from its preferred program for advertisers and its show "Foursome," the magazine wrote. Paul posted a suicide prevention video and discussed the negative reaction to his Japan video on ABC's "Good Morning America," per Billboard.
