Karina Garcia is the "slime queen" of the Internet, and she would take that as a compliment, as the 23-year-old former waitress is making six-figures a month with her YouTube do-it-yourself slime videos, according to CNBC.

Garcia has posted more than 200 videos on YouTube, showing her 7 million subscribers how to make a $1,000 slime smoothie, edible snow slime, slime balloons, and slime bubblegum, to name a few, the cable business channel said.

The Riverside, California, millennial has gone from taking her slimy hobby part time to a full-time venture as advertisers pay her big bucks to advertise on her YouTube channel.

"I always knew what success was and I always wanted to be successful, but I've never dreamed of having this much success," Garcia told CNBC.

In 2015, Garcia followed in the footsteps of her sister Mayra Isabel Garcia, who already had her own YouTube channel doing beauty tutorials, according to The Kansas City Star.

According to the website Delish, Garcia's videos quickly grew in popularity among kids, who appeared to be attracted to colorful and fun do-it-yourself videos.

"I'm very raw in my videos," Garcia told Delish. "Even editing, if I make a mistake, I'll leave it in the video, because it shows I'm not perfect. I think it makes me more relatable."

Garcia said, though, she hit the jackpot when she started dabbling in edible slime, following some recipes online and sharing it with her YouTube viewers, according to Delish. Her Starburst slime video was viewed more than 5 million times, leading to a book deal with her own edible slime recipes, noted Delish.

"I used to get a lot of hate for it in the beginning," Garcia told Delish. "I'd make slime once a week, and people were like, 'what are you doing? You're so weird.' Now, people get it. It's this sensory thing that's fun to look at and stress-relieving to play with."

The New York Times wrote that her sponsorships have come from companies like Audible, Coca-Cola and Disney.

Danny Fratella of Social Blade, a data company that tracks estimated earnings and future projections of YouTube stars, told CNBC that he estimated that Garcia likely earns anywhere from $80,000 to $160,000 a month on ad revenue alone based on her channel's viewership.

Garcia told the network that from her ad revenue, partnerships, her book, product line, and events, her business earns about $2 million per year.

"I've retired my parents," Garcia, who moved into a six-bedroom home in Riverside last March, told The New York Times. "It’s definitely really crazy. Even I can't believe it. I'm like, 'How is this happening?'"
