A suspect has been arrested in a shooting at a Kia automobile plant in Georgia where at least one person was wounded.
The Associated Press reported Troup County sheriff's Sgt. Stewart Smith as confirming the shooting Tuesday afternoon inside the auto plant near West Point at the Georgia-Alabama state line. Smith said one person was wounded had been taken to a hospital by helicopter. He said authorities had a lone suspect in custody.
Few other details were immediately available. Smith said authorities evacuated the plant and it appeared to be clear following a sweep.
He did not know how severely the shooting victim had been injured.
Spokesmen for Kia did not immediately return phone calls and an email message.
