Kate Beckinsale has shared a health update with fans after reports emerged that she was rushed to the hospital Friday during production for her upcoming film, "Prisoner's Daughter."
The actress confirmed the news on Sunday when she posted a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed on Instagram.
"Feeling a lot better. Thank you so much for your kind messages and love x" she captioned the image.
Beckinsale provided no further details but TMZ reported that she was hospitalized after her back gave out.
Beckinsale is best known for her roles in films including "Underworld," Van Helsing," and "Serendipity" but she also made headlines in 2017 after she spoke out against Harvey Weinstein, claiming he harassed her when she was 17 years old. She made the revelation on Instagram.
In a lengthy caption, Beckinsale claimed Weinstein called her to a meeting in his hotel room where he greeted her in a bathrobe and offered her alcohol. She said she declined and told him she had school in the morning, then left uneasily.
Years later, she said Weinstein appeared not to remember the encounter and asked her if anything had happened between them. Beckinsale claimed her rejection of Weinstein hurt her career, and that he would scream at her and call her names, saying, "Kate lives to say no to me."
Last year, Beckinsale again called out Weinstein, stating that the disgraced movie mogul once screamed a slew of obscenities at her while her daughter, less than two years old at the time, was in the other room. The ordeal stemmed from the movie premiere of "Serendipity" on Oct. 5, 2001, which cast members were reluctant to attend due to 9/11, Beckinsale revealed in a now-deleted Instagram post cited by Variety. The city was "still smoking," and it felt like the "most insensitive, tone deaf, disrespectful idea possible," Beckinsale wrote in an Instagram post. "But Harvey insisted."
The following morning, Beckinsale recounted receiving a call from Weinstein asking if she would like to bring her daughter around for a playdate with his daughter. She agreed but when they showed up, Weinstein reportedly began yelling at her.
"The minute the door closed he started screaming, 'You stupid f—ing c—, you c— you ruined my premiere.' I had no idea what he was talking about and started to shake," Beckinsale wrote on Instagram. "He said, ‘If I am throwing a red carpet, you get in a tight dress, you shake your ass, you shake your t—, you do not go down looking like a f—ing lesbian you stupid f—ing c—.'"
Beckinsale recalled trying to reason with Weinstein but he continued his tirade, according to Variety. Beckinsale said she was eventually able to grab her daughter and leave his home.
