Jon Gosselin’s son Collin is being hidden from him by his mother, Kate Gosselin, the former reality star father told ET, saying that his ex-wife wouldn't tell him where their 12-year-old son is.
“I have an idea where he is but I don’t really know where he is,” Gosselin told ET’s Jennifer Peros.
“I mean, I ask but she doesn’t tell me,” he said. “She doesn’t answer any of my texts.”
The former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star said that while his ex-wife “says Collin is in a special school for special needs kids with behavioral problems,” he’s being told something completely different by law enforcement officials.
Kate enrolled Collin in a program away from their Pennsylvania home in August that she hoped would help him cope with special needs.
Despite this, Jon referred to his son as “really smart” and “incredibly intuitive” during his ET interview.
Kate discussed Collin’s health in a tell-all to People magazine in August.
“Collin has special needs,” Kate told People magazine. “[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own.”
“I’ve felt very alone in this. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him – our entire family has been impacted,” she added regarding how Collin’s health issues have affected her, Jon and their children.
Jon fired back at Kate’s comments, in an August interview with ET, saying, “I love my children very much. I’ve always been there for them and I always will be. It’s shocking.”
Collin is the only child of eight who has not appeared in the promos for the new show “Kate Plus 8,” which will air on TLC.
Jon has said that Collin’s siblings don’t know of the boy’s whereabouts either.
“They know that their mom told them that he has behavioral issues,” he told ET in his recent interview.
Jon has joint physical custody of their children – twins Mady and Cara, 16, and their 12-year-old sextuplets, Collin, Aaden, Alexis, Hannah, Leah and Joel, according to US Magazine. However, Kate has full legal custody.
According to Radar Online, Collin was reportedly expelled from his school along with his sister Alexis for “violent and abuse behavior against other students in 2010.”
