Jon Gosselin posted a rare photo of his "missing" son Collin Gosselin, taken when they celebrated his 14th birthday recently.
For the last few years Collin Gosselin has been living away from the rest of his sextuplet siblings, at a facility for children with special needs, Yahoo Entertainment reported.
The photo posted to Jon Gosselin's Instagram account on Sunday captured a rare happy moment with his son and daughter, Hannah Gosselin.
"Glad I could celebrate my son Collin’s 14th birthday with him and his sister!" Jon Gosselin captioned the pic, which showed the three of them standing around a cake and pizza, beaming at the camera.
The Gosselin family was part of one of the most successful reality shows nearly 10 years ago when "Jon & Kate Plus 8" hit the airways on TLC in 2007.
However, Collin dropped out of sight after the show concluded in 2009, only to re-emerge into the limelight again in 2016 when his mother, Kate Gosselin, revealed he had "special needs" and had been enrolled into a full-time program away from home.
"There is a huge hole in our family without him here," she told People magazine at the time, adding that she drew comfort knowing that he is "where he needs to be."
Meanwhile, after going through a bitter divorce in 2009, Jon Gosselin said his ex-wife Kate Gosselin was keeping him from seeing Collin Gosselin.
The topic of his children, who live with their mother, is a sensitive one to Jon Gosselin. He said he spends time with whichever child wanted to see him.
His two daughters Mady Gosselin and Cary Gosselin previously opened up about Jon Gosselin, saying he was the problem in their strained relationship and not their mom.
"He makes it seem like we're being kept from him, which is insane," Mady Gosselin said.
"He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don't want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen."
