The search for Jayme Closs continues after the 13-year-old girl went missing from her Wisconsin home following the murder of her parents five days ago.
James and Denise Closs were shot and killed in their home Monday but their daughter, who has been ruled out as a suspect, was nowhere to be found when responding officers arrived at the scene, Fox News reported.
A nationwide search has since been launched as hundreds of tips pour in, but there has been no credible sighting yet.
On Thursday, the Barron County Sheriff’s Department announced it would be conducting a search of the area near the Wisconsin home and called for 100 volunteers to assist.
In a separate statement, the Barron County Sheriff’s Department added that it would also be conducting a routine search for “articles of evidentiary value” that may be related to Jayme Closs.
During the course of the week, several photos of the girl have been released by officials hoping to bring her home.
On Tuesday Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said Closs is “missing and endangered” but maintained that he believes she's alive, Fox News reported.
As authorities continue their search for Jayme Closs, officials are working to solve her parents' murder.
According to Fox 9, neighbors reportedly heard two gun shots fired from the Closs family home, but did not alert police.
A 911 call from a cell phone was placed from inside the Closs family home but it has not been revealed whose phone made the call.
Based upon the 911 recording, investigators said Jayme Closs was in the house when her parents were killed.
