iOS 7 Download Problems Due To Demand Tarnish Apple Rollout

Users anxious to get Apple's new iOS 7 on their iPhones and iPads earlier this week reportedly experienced a few roadblocks and problems when trying to download the new operating system.

Millions of people pushed "Download" Wednesday, but many of them soon reported error messages, insanely long download times, or were told their devices didn’t have enough memory for iOS 7.

"Software Update Failed: An error occurred downloading iOS 7.0," was a common pop-up on many users' iPhones and iPads, leading them to vent their frustrations on Twitter.

"What's likely happening is that there are more people simultaneously trying to hit up Apple's servers than those servers have the capacity for," CNN Money reported. "And not only do you have to connect to download the software, but you have to connect again for the servers to verify that the hardware and software are legit before you can install iOS 7. Combine the iOS update with the fact that every app developer is pushing out their iOS 7-ized updates (also delivered to you by Apple), and a perfect storm of server congestion starts brewing."

The highly anticipated iOS 7 marks the first fully revamped operating system update since Steve Jobs' passing in 2011. It features a totally new look and feel, complete with more easily accessible control and navigation centers, new features like iTunes Radio and AirDrop, and an improved and optimized camera.
