Easier to Get in Harvard Than a McDonald’s Job

By    |   Saturday, 30 April 2011 06:39 PM EDT

Believe it or not, it’s easier to get into Harvard than it is to get a job flipping burgers at McDonald’s.

Mickey D’s attracted 1 million applicants when it convened a huge national job fair on April 19. The company planned to take on 50,000 but ended up taking 62,000 — that’s a rate of 6.2 percent, reports Business Insider.

But in the cloistered halls of the Ivy League, Harvard will accept around 7 percent of applicants this year — and that’s down nearly a full percentage point from last year.
