HarrisX has partnered with veteran pollster Scott Rasmussen to produce a daily tracking poll that analyzes the public's general opinions about the U.S. political climate, the company said in a news release Wednesday.
The partnership will anchor Rasmussen's new public-opinion website, ScottRasmussen.com, while providing a gauge on the political sentiment of the U.S. through data gathered via thousands of interviews conducted five nights a week since early August, Rasmussen said.
Between four to eight polls will be released on Rasmussen's website daily, which will focus on an array of topics and opinions.
HarrisX, which is a leading research company specializing in online surveys, will use an overnight poll service to continue surveying 1,000 U.S. voters five nights a week.
"Our mission is to enhance the public dialogue through data-driven analysis that explores the underlying currents of public opinion," Rasmussen said in the news release. "Temporary political preferences come and go, but it is the deeper currents of public attitudes and culture that move the nation forward."
Rasmussen added that he was excited to work with HarrisX in order to "measure those deeper currents using a rigorous methodology and unrivaled professionalism."
Dritan Nesho, CEO and chief researcher at HarrisX, said he was thrilled to collaborate with Rasmussen in his mission to unearth "nuances of public opinion around social changes, political life, and governance carefully and methodically, and without using partisan lenses."
Nesho explained that the overnight poll system employs "all the current best practices of polling in the digital era," and added that he could not imagine a better partner than Rasmussen "to put those techniques to use."
The website has already released data on the generic ballot, the President's job approval, ratings of the U.S. health care system as well as an overview of attitudes toward Congress.
