Hannity Lauds Paul Ryan's Defense of Conservatism

Sean Hannity says House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s speech at the Heritage Foundation today was one of the best philosophical defenses of conservatism the radio-show host has ever heard.

“I think that the presidential candidates, all of them, might want to take note of this speech today,” Hannity said on his show this afternoon. “It confronts Obama’s attempts . . . to divide the country the way he has.”

The Wisconsin congressman went on the offensive against the president during the speech, and said Barack Obama is engaging recklessly in class warfare.

“It’s important that we expose what I think is the strategy of a president that cannot run on his record,” Hannity said, quoting parts of the speech. “It really exposes the class warfare that alienates Americans.”

If anything, the speech might jolt Obama into approaching his presidency differently, Hannity said.

“Conservatism is a game you’ve got to play to win,” he said. “You’ve got to be on offense, not defense. Ryan minced no words in this speech. He’s going on offense.”
