Republicans seeking Senate seats in next year’s elections apparently don’t think too much of the budget agreement reached between Democrats and Republicans in Congress last week. An overwhelming majority of more than a dozen candidates contacted by
Politico expressed opposition to the deal.
To be sure, it’s a lot easier to lob grenades at Congress when you’re not sitting inside it. But clearly Republican candidates feel no compulsion to stay in line with the Republican congressional leaders as they launch their campaigns.

"Our country will borrow more in the next nine days than this budget deal cuts, so I would have voted no on both the short-term CR [continuing resolution] and the budget, because I don't think either go far enough," said Florida's
Adam Hasner, who is currently in the exploratory phase of a Senate bid.
