Florida Gov. Rick Scott promised a tea party crowd that he’ll veto any budget that reaches his desk without the spending cuts he’s proposed — and he vowed lower taxes. "We are going to look at every piece of government and say 'should we be doing that, or should we not be doing it?" the

Scott has proposed a budget with $2 billion in business tax breaks. State lawmakers have not been receptive to the idea because the state is facing a $3.8 billion budget gap.
During his weekly radio address, Scott hinted that he would veto any budget that does not include the tax breaks. He repeated that message after his speech.
"We have the most fiscally conservative House and Senate ever, and I'm very confident they know how I got elected and they believe in the same things I believe in," he said.
