Fat Mike, the lead singer in a punk rock band, forearmed a fan who tried to join him on stage during a concert in Australia and then kicked the fallen concert goer in the face.
As shown in a video posted by the
celebrity website TMZ, the band NOFX was in the middle of performing a song during a concert at the Emmore Theatre in Sydney when the enthusiastic fan leaped on stage, darted to Fat Mike and put his arm around his neck while trying to join in the song.
Fat Mike, whose real name is Mike Burkett, paused for just a second before delivering a brutal forearm that floored the fan. Once he man was on the ground, Burkett finished him off with a kick to the face before security could get to the man.
The Daily Mail reported that the fan later identified himself on Twitter as Alex Medak and he apologized, saying that alcohol got the best of him and that he forgot Burkett had made an announcement before the show that his neck was hurting.
Burkett appeared to have had second thoughts on Wednesday as well, according to his post on Twitter.
In a twist, Medak ended up defending Burkett for his actions when some fans criticized the NOFX singer, according to the Daily Mail. Medak said he takes responsibility for the incident.
"I'm sure he feels terrible, and so do I," Medak said. "It's the past now for both of us, and the public needs to stop worrying as well."
