Dusty Hill, one third of the bearded trio that is ZZ Top, will undergo surgery for kidney stones this week, causing the band to delay the first week of its summer tour.
"ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill is slated to undergo surgery to remove two kidney stones this week, necessitating a delay in the start of the group's U.S. summer tour," the group's publicist said in a statement. "The kidney stones were discovered in the course of a routine physical examination where Hill's doctor advised him that they should immediately be removed, lest they cause more serious problems down the line."

The delay will affect the following shows: July 25 in Morton, Minnesota; July 26 in West Bend, Wisconsin; July 27 in Cincinnati, Ohio; July 29 in Louisville, Kentucky; July 30 in Asheville, North Carolina; and Aug. 1 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
No word yet on whether the canceled dates will be rescheduled, but the tour will pick back up on Aug. 6 in Sturgis, South Dakota.
