Two Florida Dunkin' Donuts employees who stayed calm and polite while an angry customer ranted viciously are being hailed as top employees and are even the benefactors of an online fundraising attempt to reward them financially.
Abid Adar, who was the prime focus of the tirade, and his co-worker, identified as Nithi, were congratulated by the franchise owner, and the
Dunkin’ Brands’ leadership invited them to an internal company event for recognition, according to the New York Daily News.

Adar, 18, wants to be a doctor and starts college in the fall, a Smoking Gun story said. An admirer of the teen’s cool head
launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $10,000 for the two employees. By Thursday afternoon, more than $7,000 had been raised.
The eight-minute videotaped rant went viral after the woman doing the ranting, later identified as Taylor Chapman, posted it to her Facebook account. She said on the video that the attack was an attempt to stand up for her rights, but social media quickly showed her how wrong she was. Chapman’s curses and racial slurs, combined with her nasty attitude, drew horrified comments online and Chapman eventually took down her Facebook page.
PC World used the situation as an example of the power of social media, and talked about how important it is for
businesses to train their employees how to respond to angry customers. In a world dotted with little cameras that record everything, it’s become an even more critical part of the customer-employee interaction.
Days after Chapman’s rant, the video was still being circulated online and people were still expressing shock and horror at the ugliness of the attack.
