"Flip or Flop" star Christina El Moussa has landed a new solo design show on HGTV to be titled "Christina on the Coast."
The new show will start with eight episodes and will show more of El Moussa’s personal life as she moves from the suburbs to the beach and balances work with single motherhood after splitting from "Flip or Flop" co-star Tarek El Moussa, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The episodes will focus on Orange County, California, families needing remodeling help.
“I’m just helping them do one room because of time constraints,” Christina El Moussa said, adding that she still needs to shoot “Flip or Flop” and honor her family responsibilities to her children, THR reported.
“I’m excited to do my own thing,” she told People. “It’s going to be fun and light-hearted.”
“Christina’s design style is very popular, so it’s a natural progression for us to expand her visibility with a new series,” HGTV and Food Network President Allison Page said in a statement, People reported. “Her fans are also deeply vested in her personal life and eager to see what happens next — so we’re bringing them the opportunity to share in these real-life moments in a way that no one else can.”
“I’ll be able to do what I like more which is the design part,” Christina El Moussa said, People reported. “That’s always been what I’m good at, and people are always asking me to come help them do their house. It’s going to be fun to be able to add my taste, and not have a flip budget.”
