Chrissy Teigen live tweeted from aboard a nightmare 8-hour flight after a bizarre passenger mishap forced the plane to abruptly make a U-turn while on its way to Japan, ABC News reported.
The model and TV personality fired off a series of tweets when the Tokyo-bound All Nippon Airways “flight to nowhere” recersed course back to Los Angeles on Tuesday.
“a flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane,” Tiegen tweeted.
“Why...why do we all gotta go back, I do not know.”
Tiegen, who was travelling with her husband John Legend, proceeded to post updates throughout the ordeal, masking her frustration with sharp wit.
“After all this I will have spent 8 hours on a flight to nowhere,” she said in one tweet, adding that the displaced passenger was carrying a United Airlines boarding pass.
“So basically the boarding pass scanner is just a beedoop machine that makes beedoop noises that register to nowhere,” she posted.
All Nippon Airways confirmed per NBC News that the passenger had boarded the wrong flight and, after informing the pilot, the flight was turned around.
Airport police were initially told to be on standby to receive the unauthorized passenger upon the flight’s return but when it emerged that the ordeal was due to a mix-up, the situation was straightened out and the flight was rescheduled for later this week.
An ANA spokesperson has said that the situation was being researched to determine exactly how the passenger ended up barding the wrong flight, ABC News reported.
