What's Chelsea Handler doing lately? Signing deals with Netflix. When Handler wraps up her E! Network late-night show next month, she'll be moving on to bigger and better things — namely, a newly announced mega-deal with Netflix.
The comedian revealed Thursday that she's inked a three-tier deal with the streaming service, which includes a stand-up special, a docu-comedy series, and the
network's first-ever talk show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested," Handler said in a statement announcing the deal Thursday. "I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move. ... I’m more excited than I’ve been in awhile, and the team at Netflix is the most forward-thinking, alert group I’ve sat down with in ages. No offense to the 'Shahs Of Sunset.'"
Handler's long-running late-night E! show, "Chelsea Lately," is slated to end its run Aug. 26. The funny gal will then debut an hour-long stand-up special on Netflix on Oct. 16, followed by four docu-comedy shows in 2015.
A Netflix-only talk show starring Handler is then expected to launch sometime in 2016, according to THR.
"The Internet has disrupted many of the conventions of traditional television and together with Chelsea Handler, Netflix is looking forward to reimagining the late night talk show for the on-demand generation, starting with the late night part," Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. "Chelsea has built a huge following on tour, on nightly TV, and through her best-selling books, and we can’t wait to introduce her breathtakingly honest and irreverent voice to our global membership."
