Pop star Anastacia revealed this week that she underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time earlier this year.
The 45-year-old "I'm Outta Love" singer cancelled her European tour in February after receiving the diagnosis.

"In light of Breast Cancer Awareness Month l wanted to take the opportunity to support a cause particularly close to my heart,"
she wrote on Facebook Tuesday. "l was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time earlier this year and am currently in the final stages of recovery after undergoing a double mastectomy.
"It has been an intense journey but l am feeling great and ready to start the next chapter. Breast Cancer Awareness Month gives all who are facing this disease a chance to gain strength and support from each other. Early detection has saved my life twice. I will continue to battle and lend my voice in any way I can."
Anastacia, whose full name is Anastacia Lyn Newkirk, was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 when she went to the doctor for a breast-reduction surgery consultation. A routine checkup revealed small calcium buildups — evidence of cancer cells in the milk ducts of the breast.
"I saved my own life just because I wanted to reduce my breast size,"
Anastacia told People magazine at the time. "I didn't have breast cancer in my family. I didn't have a lump in my breast. This would not have been detected with a self-exam."
Angelina Jolie is another star who also recently underwent a double mastectomy, though hers was preventative. The actress revealed in May that she had an 87 percent risk of developing breast cancer because of a mutation in her BRCA1 gene.
