A judge ordered Amanda Bynes to check into a psychiatric facility but the actress, who was not taken there straight from the courthouse because she agreed to check herself in, failed to show up. Now she is refusing to co-operate, according to reports.
The order was initially passed down on Thursday during a court hearing connected to her conservatorship case, which saw Bynes’ parents and former fiancé in attendance.
Details of the “She’s The Man” star’s mental health, as well as her three-week engagement with Paul Michael, were discussed during the hearing.
Bynes' parents have had a conservatorship over her for years, ever since their 33-year-old daughter entered a facility to treat her drug addiction and mental health issues. They were legally refusing her to marry Michael.
Bynes initially agreed to check into a live-in facility over the weekend but backtracked on her agreement. Now she is refusing to go, The Blast reported.
Bynes was previously committed to a psychiatric facility involuntarily in 2014. A judge extended her nearly three-week stay by an additional 30 days upon doctors' requests, TMZ reported at the time.
The erratic behavior that landed her at the hospital includes a DUI arrest, a shoplifting accusation from Barney's department store, and making “extensive” purchases of high-end jewelry and other items that she often gives away to strangers.
