Adam Sandler reunited with the IHOP hostess who turned him away from the restaurant last month.
Taking to TikTok, Dayanna Rodas posted a slideshow showing herself posing with the 54-year-old actor during the chain's Milkshake Monday promotion.
"Couldn’t have been more excited!!" Rodas captioned the clip. "Thank you Adam Sandler!"
Sandler also mentioned the extravaganza on social media.
"Thank u IHOP for Milkshake Monday," he captioned a photo of a dog at the event.
Rodas caused a stir in April after she posted a video in which she told Sandler he would have to wait for at least half an hour before being seated at the IHOP in Manhasset, Long Island. In the footage, Sandler and his daughter then turn and walk out.
"Pleaseee come back," Rodas captioned the video. "Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him its a 30min wait and him ofc leaving bc hes not going to wait 30mins for IHOP."
Later, Rodas explained in another TikTok post why she was unable to recognize Sandler.
"It's because he had a big beard, and I've never seen Adam Sandler with a beard," she said. "And the mask didn't help."
Sandler later made light of the situation on Twitter.
"For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn't apply to the milkshakes," he quipped.
As a result of his tweet, IHOP decided to launch Milkshake Monday. The chain announced the news on Twitter.
"You know what, @AdamSandler, you may be onto something here. In your honor, we’d like to declare May 10th, 2021 #MilkshakeMonday at IHOP. More sweet details to follow."
IHOP posted a follow-up tweet stating that it would be donating proceeds to Comedy Gives Back, which has been assisting comedians who lost their income during the pandemic.
"A comedy icon (we can’t mention for legal reasons) has come up with a lot of sweet ideas over the years, but all-you-can-drink milkshakes takes the shake. Drink up Long Island, because it’s officially #MilkshakeMonday. All proceeds go to @ComedyGivesBack," the tweet read.
Last year Sandler was one of the comedians to participate in Comedy Gives Back Laugh Aid live stream. The six-hour charity event was held to raise funds for the organization and the campaign raised over $356,206.37. Other notable names that took part included Howie Mandel, Whitney Cummings, Bob Saget, and Drew Carey.
“We need laughter … laughter is, as everybody says, the best medicine," Mandel said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We need to support these people that put a smile on strangers’ faces."
