Soccer superstar Abby Wambach married longtime girlfriend and fellow pro soccer player Sarah Huffman on Saturday at a resort in Hawaii,
TMZ reported.
Close relatives and friends attended the sunset ceremony for Wambach, 33, a two-time gold medalist, and Huffman, 29, a former soccer standout at the University of Virginia. Wambach’s Olympic teammates Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux were among the guests, TMZ said.

The couple were teammates for the Western New York Flash last season. They were also teammates with the Washington Freedom and MagicJack.
Long rumored to be dating, the couple never officially confirmed reports.
Huffman confirmed she was gay when she announced in July that she was forming a partnership with Athlete Ally, an LGBT website.
“I am proud to be an athlete ally because I dream of a world full of equal opportunities and treatment,” Huffman wrote in a statement on the website. “I believe that sports are a place where everybody belongs. Discrimination based upon sexual orientation, race, gender have no place in the world — nevertheless sports. I am excited to be an ally and stand up for people like me in the LGBT community.”
There were plenty of congratulatory wishes from Twitter fans.
