If you tuned into the GOP primary debate in New Hampshire on Monday night, it was likely for one of two reasons: Either you are a political junkie like me, and campaign season brings about the kind of irrational excitement that is usually reserved for national sporting events, or you're a frustrated American voter who wanted to get to know the Republican candidates a little better.
If you fall into the latter category, I'm terribly sorry. Monday's debate probably didn't help much. And it wasn't the candidates' fault either. Boy, did they try.
Unfortunately, the format was a schizophrenic mess. CNN's overly caffeinated, Jumbotron-hopping, rapid-fire questioning made it impossible for viewers to follow the quick topic changes, and moderator John King kept grunting through the candidates' answers in an attempt to keep them on the clock. And then there were the humiliating "this or that" questions. Did you know Tim Pawlenty prefers Coke to Pepsi? Consider yourself informed.
