Aug. 6, 2018: Americans are expected to spend $30.43 billion drunk shopping this year.[1]
Nearly half (46 percent) of those who drink regularly shop while drunk — a total of 68 million people. They spend an average of $447.57 per person. Food, shoes, clothing, and gambling are the top items purchased under the influence.
Millennials make the most drunk purchases, followed by Gen Xers and baby boomers.
