3rd Spacewalk in a Week at Space Station

Friday, 27 December 2013 09:48 AM EST

MOSCOW — Two Russian astronauts have begun a spacewalk to install cameras and perform other work on the International Space Station.

The Friday venture by Oleg Kotov and Sergei Ryazansky is the third spacewalk in a week at the orbiting laboratory. U.S. astronauts Rick Mastracchio and Michael Hopkins performed two on Saturday and Tuesday to remove and replace a faulty cooling pump.

The Russians' tasks on their spacewalk, which is expected last about seven hours, include installing two high-resolution cameras and attending to experiment equipment on the space station's exterior.
