As a result of the November election, there is now no obstacle between the lunatic left in California’s legislature and its pursuit of utopia here on earth. Well at least a California utopia.

No matter how wacky the idea there are now enough leftists in Sacramento to pass it.

In both the state house and the state senate Democrats now enjoy a super majority, which means the legislature can raise taxes as high as they wish, without even feeble resistance from Republicans. And in the unlikely event the new governor, Gavin Newsom, vetoes the bill, there are enough potential votes to override any veto.

In the state senate the left has two-thirds of the seats and in the state house it enjoys an 80-seat advantage. As the Associated Press points out, “[Democrats] hold every statewide office.” Something tells me that while Republicans in Washington can’t manage to get much done while controlling the House, Senate, and the White House, the Democratic left in California is going to go to town.

All we have to say is, “Let the bad times roll!”

This no doubt means new life for the failed "single-payer" health plan that collapsed previously because the state couldn’t afford to pay for it. The sky is the limit for taxes now. And speaking of taxes, the hardy climate warriors now in office may believe this is a perfect time to get tough with Global Warming. Can you say crushing carbon taxes?

It will mean the end of manufacturing in California, and maybe electricity, but that’s a small price to pay if Sacramento saves the planet. Besides, the formerly golden state is all about tech now and that industry has a large ideological footprint and a relatively small carbon footprint.

Kyrsten Sinema, who looks to be Arizona’s newest senator if Democrats can keep counting ballots long enough, once called her state “the meth lab of democracy.” In no time at all it’s possible California will be vying to be named the ‘ecstasy lab of democracy.’

Who knows, in a couple of years these leftist social architects may come around to supporting a border wall. Only this time it won’t be to keep illegal aliens out of California. This wall will be to keep taxpayers trying to flee lunatic and expensive government inside California.
