Joe Biden has been naming members to his team who have already shown they operate from a "strategy of weakness," and some will likely face difficulty in getting confirmed by a Republican-controlled Senate, Rep. Lee Zeldin said Tuesday.

"Someone like Janet Yellen, she does have experience, having gone through an (economic) recovery in years following the 2008 crash," the New York Republican said on Fox Business' "Mornings with Maria."

Zeldin added that with "Biden running his campaign out of his basement, not answering tough questions," it's tough to see where people like Yellen stand.

"(She) is for advocating corporate tax rate hikes," said Zeldin. "A confirmation hearing might learn more."

Other picks could have more difficulty being confirmed, including Neera Tanden, Biden's choice to head the Office of Management and Budget, who is coming under fire from both sides of the aisle, said Zeldin.

Tanden, the chief executive of the liberal think tank Center for American Progress, has sparred with progressives over policy, with Sen. Bernie Sanders in 2019 complaining to the organization about her leadership, accusing her of calling for unity "while simultaneously maligning my staff and supporters and belittling progressive ideas."

"Jay Sullivan, as national security adviser, or John Kerry, when you analyze their record ... that strategy of weakness I am sure will come out," said Zeldin.

Zeldin also discussed his reelection, coming after a drawn-out count of absentee ballots concluding Monday.

"Many people felt this race should have been declared election night, but they wanted to keep the fun going a few extra weeks," said Zeldin, adding that he was up "by about 65,000 votes" at the end of the day on Nov. 3.
