Women are donating to Planned Parenthood in Vice President-elect Mike Pence's name, according to The Huffington Post.
Pence, Donald Trump's incoming vice president, is anti-abortion. In fact, the Post notes, Pence led the Republican war on Planned Parenthood.
The vice president-elect once said: "I long for the day that Roe v. Wade is sent to the ash heap of history, when we move past the broken hearts and the broken lives of the past 38 years."
The donations to Planned Parenthood are part of a somewhat humorous protest against the incoming vice president. Artist Bethany Cosentino had told followers on Instagram that they can send a donation in Pence's name and he will receive "the certificate of the donation."
A string of others reposted details on their Instagram accounts, including comedian Amy Schumer and Amber Tamblyn.
And others have joined in on Twitter.
The NBC news affiliate in Chicago noted it is not the first time Pence's views on women's rights have sparked a backlash.
After he signed a controversial abortion ban into law as Indiana governor in March, women contacted his office to send updates on their menstrual cycles in protest, the station noted.
