White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Wednesday said there is a "massive, massive difference" between the hacks and leaks of the Democrats' emails than that of CIA classified information.
Spicer specifically was asked if President Donald Trump still loves WikiLeaks, as he stated during the campaign when it provided a treasure trove of information on Hillary Clinton's campaign.
"There's a big difference between disclosing John Podesta's G-mail accounts and his . . . undermining of Hillary Clinton, and his thoughts on her on a personal nature, and the leaking of classified information," Spicer told reporters.
"There's a massive, massive difference between those two things," Spicer said. "It's interesting we're not hearing as much outrage when it comes to our issues of national security."
Intelligence agencies will begin a review of how the CIA was hacked of classified information of its own hacking operations, which was leaked by WikiLeaks.
"And make no mistake about it, I think the president has talked before that anybody who leaks classified information will be held to the highest degree of law," Spicer said. "We will go after people who leak classified information, we'll prosecute them to the full extent of the law. This is playing with our nation's national security is not something that should be taken lightly under this administration."
